Our Mixed-age Class is just right for your baby, toddler, preschooler and kindergartener. And here's why.
Child development researchers have found that grouping together children of varying ages fosters natural, family-style learning. The hallmark of the Music Together program, our Mixed-age Class gives children the environment they need to grow musically while interacting both socially and musically with peers of different ages. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because their children can go to class together. And any or all of your child's caregivers—parents, grandparents, nannies—can come share in the experience, both in class and at home. The whole family is welcome!
Ten weekly, 45-minute classes (6 weekly classes for summer semester) include songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences--developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers--regardless of their own musical ability.
Each semester you enroll in a Music Together class, you will receive a color, illustrated songbook, two CDs, and a code giving you access to Music Together's brand-new Family Music Zone. There, you'll be able to download the songs from the song collection and explore fun content created just for you. To access the Family Music Zone, you just need to visit www.musictogether.com/account and create an account using the code found on the inside back cover of your CD booklet.
